Everything was silent for once...it was kind of nice. The feeling was only nice for a short time though. The silence didn't take lond to become eerie and most unwelcome now. Last thing she remembered, her parents had been screaming at each other. Again. She had taken refuge in her room again and just flopped down on her bed. Now it felt like she was laying on dirt. The air around her was kind of cold, and honestly smelled disgusting. She opened her eyes, seeing a dead, grey sky over head. Next to her head was a rock...no, she realized upon seeing the writing on it, a tombstone. She gasped and rolled off the grave, getting herself into a more or less sitting position off to the side. "W-what in the world?!" she said. She stared at the grave she'd been laying on, thoroughly disgusted that she'd been laying there before looking around.
The graveyard was relatively normal for a graveyard. Lots of tombstones, some were complex statues and others were more humble stones. The one unusal thing about this place though, was that a lot of the stones were broken. And it wasn't just that they were cracked or anything, it was much worse than that. Some of them were broken clean in half.
She shuddered and slowly got to her feet "...what is this place?" she mumbled. She was kind of all ready wishing to be back home even if it meant hearing her parents fight. Something was just wrong with this place. It was almost as if she were dreaming, but the problem was, she just felt too real to be dreaming.
She began to walk through the graveyard peering over her shoulder ever few seconds. She couldn't help but feel paranoid in a place like this. She looked out in the distance and saw a figure on the ground slouched over. It appeared to be a blonde girl. "Ah! H-Hey!!" she called she waved but got no response from the girl "Hey are you okay?" Thought she was normally not so social with total strangers, she was just glad to see someone. She ran toward the girl, "hey are you hur--" she stopped and skidded to a halt, but noticed too late that she wasn't normal. She had claws. She looked up and gave a shriek and lashed out at Yumi who shrieked and stumbled back, but she wasn't fast enough, she got a long gash across her stomach. She winced, before turning and running. There was no way she wanted to fight a monster. Not without weapons and not with the wound she just got on her stomach. She ran away as fast as she could, and the girl with claws chased after her.
This was terrifying, this just couldn't be real. But it did seem real, which meant if this thing killed her...she was gone. Dead. That thought was terrifying and she tried to push it out of her head as she ran. The girl was quickly catching up though. Yumi tried to zig zag through the tomb stones to try to trip up the girl, but in the end it was her that ended up tripping and falling on her face. She turned over and the girl's claws stabbed into the ground where she had just been laying, getting stuck. Yumi kicked the girl in the stomach and she stumbled back, then game forward screeching again, Yumi had no time to get up. She put her arms up over her head and grit her teeth as her eyes teared up, preparing for the end.

It hadn't been all that long since Ulrich first came in contact with this place. Long enough, however, for him to become terrified out of his wits along with paranoid as hell. There was nothing trustworthy here--Save Ammy, but he'd somehow managed to lose her. Now he was back to being alone, and rather than being in an overly spooky amusement party, he'd ended up in the home of the spooks themselves.
"...Definitely not the place to be in a world filled with monsters." Ulrich commented as he slowly made his way around. The place was cold, foggy and it reminded him a lot of the area in the TV of the horror movie called 'The Ring'. --But then again, this wasn't the time to be thinking of things like that.
While he'd gotten lost, Ulrich managed to find himself a weapon like before. It was a lot like the pole he'd used to beat the hell out of the monsters he'd come in contact with before, but this time it was more like a crowbar. He was somewhat impaired due to a previous injury, but with some rest and a little more than an overload of motivation he managed to get back on his feet and venture on.
As he continued forward, he couldn't help but notice the sound of what seemed to be a shriek in the distance. It was almost like a banshee--probably another one of those monsters. However, he had a pretty bad feeling about this and darted in that direction, holding the crowbar securely in both hands.
He noticed through the clearing fog a girl in black kick over some witch-like creature from where she currently lay on the ground. He didn't recognize her, really, but she looked like she needed help. "Ok, now's my chance...!" He said to the air then charged at the two of them. In a short amount of time he'd covered all the ground and leapt straight over the girl in black and onto the witch, kicking her several feet backward. Without a second's hesitation, he lunged at her and whacked the creature with the crowbar. "Get back!" He demanded. "You leave her alone!"

Yumi had been totally prepared for her end, she'd accepted it. But suddenly the creatures shrieked and the final blow never came. She slowly put her arms down and stared dumb struck at her saivor. She stared for a moment as if to make sure he was really there.
"U-Ulrich?!" Yumi said, she always liked seeing him, but honestly, she'd never been more glad than now to see him. There wasn't really much time for a reunion unfortunately. The witch was recovering and she ran at Ulrich, claws out. Yumi looked and fumbled around for something she could use, finally seeing a rock behind a tombstone and crawling for it. She snatched it up and flung it as hard as she could at the girl, striking her hard in the head which got her attention. She whirled around and screeched at Yumi, clearly not pleased with the attack. She turned away from Ulrich and dashed once again at Yumi, moving much faster than any human could.
Yumi looked alarmed and scrambled to her feet, throwing another rock which struck her in the chest, only delaying her for a millisecond while she was able to get to her feet and take a couple steps back.

Ulrich became dumbfounded upon hearing the sound of Yumi's voice. "...Yumi?!" He questioned, turning and staring at her for a moment. His attention was the quickly turned to the witch as he noticed Yumi chuck a rock in her direction. After said attack happened and the witch went for his friend, the boy became a hell of a lot more serious.
"Hey!" He shouted at the creature and charged at it with his noticeably great speed. After catching up, he fell to the ground with his right leg out, then used his arms in order to turn and kick the witch in the legs, causing her to trip over. Once his kind of dishonorable move was complete, he hopped back to his feet and jumped in the air holding the crowbar high above his head before swinging it down with great force onto the witch's. "Die!!" He shouted. No one messed with his friends, and no one especially messed with Yumi. This witch wasn't going to live to see another 3 minutes.
After landing his attack, the witch's body was forced downward and her face was pounded into the dirt. He landed relatively clumsily (on one knee and his hand) a few feet beside Yumi, panting. He stared at the witch for a moment, waiting for any more movements from her wretched form. When things seemed quiet, he glanced at Yumi, wordlessly.

Yumi stared at the witch that was laying on the ground, she was bleeding rather heavily from her stomach and looked much, much more pale than usual. She felt so blank and horrified right now. She didn't know what to feel right now at all. She couldn't even remember how to speak at the moment. It took her several moments to speak, and when she did, she did so quietly and without looking at Ulrich, she kept her eyes glued to that witch. "...what is this place? Where are we?...what's happened?"
Seeing Ulrich beat down on that thing had been kind of sickening. It was too real. She felt like she wanted to puke or pass out or something.

" ... I don't know, Yumi, but the last person I wanted to see here was you." He said and pulled himself to his feet. "Come on, your hurt, I'll take you somewhere and fix you up." He began to walk past the witch that now lay lifelessly on the ground between the tombstones. Sure, he was kind of avoiding explaining too much, but at the same time he didn't know what to say to her. As glad as he was to see an old friend, he was horrified at the thought of her being put in the same danger he'd been trying to avoid himself. However, now he had a reason to keep fighting with strength.
He glanced back toward her as he walked. "Come on, we gotta go before something else shows up. One more hit for you and you could be a goner and I'm not gonna let that happen." Regardless, his voice lacked its normal tone. If Yumi took the time to notice, she'd realize he sounded borderline terrified. Once again he was trying to be a leader by feigning an act of bravery.
Due to previous circumstances, Ulrich was wearing merely a ripped tank-top and beneath that, mostly to his side, seemed to be a slight lump of some sort as if fabric were clumping together and causing an unfashionable bump. His pants were dirtied and one part at the knee had a small hole that must have formed when he landed after killing the witch. His arms as well as his face were tattered with various scratches and multiple patches of dirt. The boy hadn't been in this world that long, but he sure did look like a veteran already.

"What do you mean I--" Yumi suddenly became aware of how battered Ulrich looked. Just long had he been here? It hadn't been so long ago that she saw him at school and he looked like this already. She looked him over, feeling panic and concern growing. There was that lump in his side, just what was that?? He sounded afraid, Ulrich didn't scare easily at all...just what was this place?!
"Right..." she said, her own tone a little shakey, partially becaose of the wound, and because of being attacked by that thing. "Is there a safe house or something around here? We really need to get inside something." She said, doing her very best to keep a level head, but it was very difficult in a bizaare and deadly situation such as this. But then, it was a lot easier to do seeing Ulrich, especially when he was like that. As was her nature with her friends, Yumi was more concerned for him than she was for herself.
She started walking off in a direction, she didn't know where she was going but she did know that she wanted to get out of the freaking graveyard and it would probably be best if they did.

Ulrich continued to keep walking, looking back and forth between various tombstones and tried his best to see through the fog. "There's safe places, I'm sure, but .... I don't know where any are right now." He muttered. "We're just going to have to make do with somewhere not-too-obvious to take refuge while I figure out where to get some water and bandages for your wound."
He recalled the amusement park he'd been in before and how Ammy had managed to find him water back when he needed it. Was there a river here or anything by any chance, either? He thought back to the areas he'd explored and tried to think of where he could grab something to wrap up Yumi.
The cemetery was large, and this Ulrich didn't like. The monsters here were all pretty zombie-like and the origin of them just might be from this very cemetery. Couldn't they rise from the dead? Something weird like that? He trudged forward, his feet dragging some as he did so. He didn't feel too good, but he didn't want Yumi to find out he'd hurt himself. For one, she'd probably freak out a little, and then she'd be more concerned about what happened to him than herself. Right now he had to make sure they fixed that gash across her stomach.
"We're ... pretty far in." Ulrich stated, quietly. He kept his grip on the crowbar as right now it was his most reliable and needed weapon. He glanced back and forth several times in search for buildings or anything like that. Anything that was built and didn't look like it was going to fall apart would do. Problem was, there weren't really any buildings in cemeteries, save the small one that always stood in front. At this point, he didn't think finding that building would be a good idea anyway.
"Stay close to me, ok, Yumi? If something comes up to attack, I'll defend us." The boy's voice was dripping with paranoia and every step he took was extremely cautious as well as nervous.

The gash across Yumi's stomach was really starting to burn now that she wasn't so frantic on running for her life and protecting Ulrich. She did her best not to show how much pain she was in, there was no need to freak out Ulrich more than he already looked. In all honesty, the kid looked one step from going over the edge of a total paranoid mental break down. Not that Yumi felt much different.
She couldnt' stop her eyes from darting every which way, she didn't know what all was here and where it could come from. Sometimes when Ulrich stepped on a spot a bit cruchier than the rest of the ground, she would would be startled into glancing at him to be sure that the foot step was really his.
"Ulrich...when we find some place safe I think you'd better fill me in on everything you know about this place." she said. Her face a bit shakey. "But don't just expect me to stand back if something else attacks. This seems like the type of place that no one will survive unless theyr'e working together." As she spoke, she never really looked at Ulrich, she kept looking every which way as if something could pop out at any moment, and really...something could.

"Yeah, okay." Ulrich murmured. "But I'm not gonna let you get hurt again, Yumi ..." He glanced about the area still. The fog was beginning to clear a little more, but regardless, a lot of things in the distance were still completely hidden or just clouded shapes. He had no idea what most of anything was and because of this he felt something could attack at any moment.
"How's your injury?" He asked, quietly. He wasn't too pleased that Yumi had been hurt. It wasn't entirely his fault, but he didn't like to see her hurt at all. He was sort of glad she was such a strong girl--She was never the type to just faint or lose the ability to be strong.
He proceeded to walk as he spoke to her as well as look back and forth. Due to his assumption everything would be surrounding the two of them, he paid no mind to the ground he was actually walking on. Several steps later there was a crumbling sound, and before Ulrich could even register what was happening he was falling through the dirt and down into a hole.
Kind of dazed at first, he laid there in silence, but he soon managed to pull himself back into a sitting position. "..Ouch." He muttered. Well that was just great. He looked around the area where he fell and gasped quietly. There were no monsters or anything, but ....

Yumi was mildly annoyed, this wasn't Lyoko, it wasn't the place that people could just go and be the hero, sacrificing themselves because it'd be okay and they'd just devirtualize back to the human world. Once he died, he died.
"It only hurts a little. I'm fine." she lied. Her voice had evened out a little bit since before. She about had a heart attack as the ground began to crack. "Ulrich!!" she tried to grab him and missed, he slipped past her fingers and she felt like her soul dropped out through her feet. She got on her hands and knees over the hole and staring down into it, having trouble seeing where he went "Are you alright?!" she called, sounding frantic and panicked. She was terrified for him. If he was gone she didn't know what she would do with herself, especially since she hadn't been able to catch him. She would never, ever forgive herself.

"Yeah, I'm fine!" Ulrich replied, looking up for a moment. He then looked forward again and stared curiously at what stood before him. A large, iron door. It was interesting enough itself, but the fact that he'd found it by falling through a hole made it all the more curious.
The brunette pulled himself to his feet with a wince (both the fall and his injury sort of hurt) and walked forward. "Yumi, I think I found something." He explained and walked up to the door. For a moment he just stared at it, looking it over. Then he knocked on it and waited for any potential response. When nothing happened, he grabbed hold of the wheel-like handle and pulled as hard as he could. The door creaked in protest, but soon opened just enough that he could see inside.
The place was different than anywhere he'd been in this world. It looked almost like somewhere had been here previously. There was a small arrange of supplies including a couple of weapons and first aid kits. Then there were packs of bottled water and small snacks. There was also a small amount of light--the place had electricity. It was almost like the sort of things one would bring camping, but ... it was all underground. Hidden. Like whomever was here first built it specifically so no monsters would get in.
"I think we found a safe place." He informed the older girl and pulled the door open even further.

Yumi felt relieved hearing his voice, she opened her mouth to call for him to be careful, she was going to tell him not to touch what ever he had found but it was too late. She heard the screeching which meant he was opening something. She froze, going completely stiff. She expected something to hop out at him or something. When nothing did, and he said that he had found a safe room she breathed a heavy sigh of relief. This was all becoming a litttle much. She'd dealt with people nearly dying before, and while they wouldn't come back if they did die when the reset button was hit, it was still comforting having that button to make everything alright.
Yumi manuevered herself around, wincing and grunting some, before sliding into the hole herself. She was normally one to land on her feet no matter what sort of thing that she did. She did land on her feet initially when she came in, but soon fell to her knees and gripped her stomach, unable to avoid showing pain. She felt weak and very tired and light headed. She wanted to sleep and she was pretty sure that was a pretty bad sign.

Ulrich stared into the room while he waited for his friend to jump down into the hole. When he heard her land, he turned to say something to her, but gasped quietly when she fell to her knees. "Yumi!" He exclaimed, concerned. He made his way over to her and knelt down. "Let's fix your injuries before they get too bad." He said. His eyes were filled with concern.
He put an arm around the girl, at first feeling a little embarrassed, but he was more concerned for her well being at the moment. He gently held her waist and helped her to her feet, walking her into the new room he'd discovered.
Upon entering, he slowly walked over to one side where he sat Yumi down and crouched in front of her for a moment. "You stay here, I'm gonna go close the door." He stood up and ran to the door, looking a little lop-sided while doing so. He grabbed hold of the door's handle and grunted, pulling it shut. After it shut, he pulled a little harder just to make sure it was shut tight. "...There.."
He turned and looked at Yumi, finally looking a little less afraid than before. They were safe for now, that was what counted. "Ok, I can tend to you now." He stated and walked back over toward her.

Yumi didn't feel all that awkward about Ulrich helping her. She didn't really register the fact that his arm was around his waist when he did so, all she knew what that it hurt a lot when he did so and when he helped her stand back up. She grunted and made pained expressions. It wasn't his fault, there was no helping it really. She wasn't looking forward to it getting treated though because usally treatments mean more pain.
She gave a faint sigh of relief as she was lead to something else she could sit on, it was much more comfortable like that. She watched him cross the room to the door and felt a little flare of anxiety, still paranoid about something popping out of no where at the last minute. Thankfully though, nothing happened and he closed the door.
"Yeah, and you can tell me what's going on here too. What is this place? What's with these creatures? How long have you been here? This has nothing to do with X.A.N.A does it?" she said, now that they were safe she felt much better about speaking and she wanted to know everything that was going on and that had happened. Just what were they yp against in this place?
